Do not be alarmed by the cloud of smoke you see moving slowly toward the Miami Improv at the Shoppes of Mayfair; that’s just the tour bus of one Pauly Shore, aka The Weasel, who’s doing something that may or may not resemble stand-up comedy this Saturday night. Your early ’90s fetishism may not extend to Biodome, In the Army Now, or Son-in-Law, but surely lodged in your brain somewhere beneath the nug-damage is a warm feeling for MTV’s Spring Break specials starring the juice-wheezing grinder himself, neon handkerchief wrapped around the outdated fro.
Even though the rise of grunge’s moody romanticism killed the marketability of Shore’s Less Than Zero routine, the comic — a kid literally born and raised inside L.A.’s famous Comedy Store — lives on, and Miami’s just the kind of town to get drunk enough to laugh along with an old friend. Shore performs Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. and does an encore show on Friday and Saturday at 10:45 p.m. Tickets cost $23.54, not including the two-drink minimum.
