An attractive blonde with cojones, comedian Chelsea Handler can be an acquired taste. As the host of Chelsea Lately for the past three years, she often comes off as insufferably annoying. But her undeniable wit, as she consistently embarrasses top rappers and shames touted actors into giving up interview gold, can also be as catchy as a deliciously naughty R. Kelly song, hooking viewers without their express consent.
Her new book of essays, Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang, follows her debut, Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea. And she has cleverly combined book-touring duties with a schedule of comedy performances. This Friday, she stops first for a free book signing at 3 p.m. at Books & Books in Coral Gables. She then moves on to a live show at the Fillmore Miami Beach.
