Nothing brings people together like a thick-accented New York Italian barking orders and baking cakes. No, this isn’t a Martin Scorsese and Rachael Ray mashup. This is the star of TLC’s Cake Boss, Buddy Valastro, coming to the Fillmore (1700 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) this Sunday at 8 p.m.
The show, featuring Valastro’s characteristically vocal cooking style, promises plenty of audience participation, which should be especially fun for those who like to see little kids scolded by a master chef who talks like a mobster. Attendees can also expect a Q&A session and behind-the-scenes stories about his show, which is heading into its fifth season. Just be sure not to ask where he hides the bodies right before wondering what’s in his “special sauce.”

Sun., Jan. 13, 8 p.m., 2013
