When you need a tasty coffee-friendly treat to go with your Grande Soy Ubora Blend, what do you choose — blueberry muffin or apple pecan biscotti? No pressure, but now there is a right answer. Starbucks has hired chef, author, and TV host Marcus Samuelsson to create pairings for the ultimate coffee connoisseur. From Ethiopian orphan to adopted son in Sweden to youngest chef ever to receive a three-star review from the New York Times, the thirtysomething Samuelsson is now co-owner of Manhattan’s Aquavit.

Today at the Starbucks Hear Music store from 12:00 to 1:30, Samuelsson is joined by “master coffee blender” Andrew Linnemann on their Coffee Is Culinary Cooking Tour. Watch a coffee and food pairing demonstration and taste a preview of fall’s new flavors. Samuelsson will sign copies of his African-inspired cookbook, and he’ll donate a portion of his royalties to UNICEF. That’s more inspiring than those apple pecan biscotti.

Wed., Sept. 12, 12-1:30 p.m.
