Some people say life is a cabaret, but who knows what those wild ruffians are talking about? Our lives are way more mundane, and most employers don’t appreciate if you show up to work in late-19th-century French garb. Luckily, Coral Gables Art Cinema (260 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables) is helping us everyday people break out of our stuffy routine and into that glamorous world of entertainment and celebration. It’s time for the theater’s third-annual Cabaret Fundraiser, and this could be the biggest one yet.
“A Night at Our Cabaret,” as the event is themed, is held this year in honor of Gables Cinema founder and president Steven Krams. Ticket proceeds support the cinema’s nonprofit arts organization. The night will be hosted by CBS 4 anchor Eliott Rodriguez and will feature lively performances in music and sensual dance, along with dinner, a premium Bacardi bar, a silent auction, and “celebrity” surprises.
