Art fiends and aesthetes, get out of the darkroom and into the light. The Center for Visual Communication is presenting new, dramatic large-scale black-and-white photography from renowned artist Clyde Butcher as the inaugural exhibition of its new Wynwood gallery. Butcher is to the Everglades what Ansel Adams was to Yosemite. His intimate and breathtaking photography of our natural landscape has made him an international star. Butcher’s new prints combine traditional methods of photography with modern digital techniques, and as a result, the artist finds new brilliance in his swampy muse.
Butcher moved to South Florida in the mid-Eighties, and purchased an old orchid farm in the middle of Big Cypress National Preserve. From there his work has made its way into museums and private collections around the world. Gallery hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday.
