It is beginning to look a lot Christmas, don’t you think? The greenery, the red noses, the snow — er, sand — blowing in the wind. Ah, it just makes you want to pull on your woolens and snuggle up with your sweetheart next to the fire. Okay, so the holidays are still five months away, but any time is a good time to enjoy a bit of bubbly with your bunny or your beau, and the big wine-er Jeffrey Wolfe agrees. Tonight from 7:00 to 9:00 you can let it go to your head at Wolfe’s Wine Shoppe’s Christmas in July Champagne and Bubble Tasting. “It’s not just champagne,” says Wolfe. “There will be bubbles from around the world.” Not sure of the difference? You will certainly be enlightened after sampling the 2002 Gramona Cava Grand Cuvée from Penedes, Spain; the Richter Riesling Brut “Mülheimer Sonnenlay”; and the 1999 Chartogne-Taillet “Fiacre” Merfy. Admission is $20, which includes a Riedel glass to take home and a $10 credit toward a purchase tonight. Call 305-445-4567, or e-mail info@wolfeswines.com to RSVP.
