Want further proof that craft beer is the newest liquor du jour? Take a look at the Thursday-night beer-tasting going down at ritzy, vintage-format steak house Angelo & Maxie’s. A&M’s comes from New York City stock — think Madison Avenue suits hoisting a rocks glass in one hand and a chunk of charred T-bone steak skewered on a fork in the other. Now that the restaurant is turning to beer to put hungry patrons into its plush leather seats, you know the tides have changed the spirit, at least, remains the same.

On Thursdays, from 6 to 9 p.m., Angelo & Maxie’s puts a manly-man deal on tap: Twenty bucks gets you an unlimited sampling of ten to 20 craft selections, carefully chosen by beer guy Chris Montelius of Fresh Beer, Inc. Some weeks, Montelius creates a theme for the beers, such as “East Coast vs. West Coast” or “Beers of the South.” But no matter what, you’ll get to taste microbrews from the likes of Stone Brewery, Lefthand, Dogfish Head, and Rogue, all while A&M’s throws down an unlimited load of chicken wings made to your liking. You’ll also receive a coupon good for 10 percent off your next meal at the steak house, just for showing up. (That part is decidedly Florida.) Bring a crisp Jackson and prepare to drink your weight in the new bubbly.
