The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $10,000 by August 9.
In a video that’s one part Lancôme commercial, three parts Discovery Channel, and seven parts Michel Gondry music video, Isabella Rossellini, clad in a giant squid costume, utters, “I would give the most passionate 20-arm embrace… 20? Eighteen. Two are not arms, if you know what I mean.” Rossellini, who was cast by David Lynch in Blue Velvet, writes, directs, and stars in short films about the mating habits of animals in Green Porno — and she insists on always playing the male. The last two seasons centered on the frisky business of sea creatures, and the first revealed the bedroom antics of creepy-crawlies such as the spider, dragonfly, and praying mantis. This Tuesday, Green Porno will play at 8 p.m. as part of “Cinema Green” at the Miami Beach Cinematheque. After Rossellini brings the sexy back to barnacles and anchovies, stay tuned for a viewing of episode two of the documentary Water’s Journey: Everglades: Currents of Change. Tickets cost $10.
