It just seems you can’t escape this thing called global warming. They’re pumping it everywhere – on TV, in movies, books, magazines, and newspapers. One might think it could actually be a real problem. No, surely not, what with twelve-mpg Hummers still allowed on the road. But you are hearing about it everywhere. And guess what? You’re going to hear about it some more. The Sierra Club of Miami is meeting tonight at 7:00 at Titanic Brewery and Restaurant (5813 Ponce De Leon Blvd., Coral Gables) for some beer and learning, as it does every third Tuesday of the month. Tonight’s topic is environmental education and will feature Madelyn Mateo from the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center. “Sierra Club and Beer is a great way to learn about environmental issues that affect us in Miami and South Florida, while having fun and getting to meet like-minded people,” says Mike Matthews, one of the organizers.
