Unless you are Michael Jordan or Jason Taylor, you probably know what it feels like to be picked last for a sports team. Whether that moment was in grade school or at last summer’s family reunion, it is unforgettable. The embarrassment of being the last man standing, followed by the awkward membership on a team that didn’t want you, just might cause an imaginary ankle sprain and a very real departure from the area. But if you join The Miami Sports & Social Club at its annual Softballpalooza II, the camaraderie (plus the ubiquitous beer kegs) might make you forget your past team nightmares and actually have a good time.
“We try to stress the fun in this league, for sure,” says Jeff Brown, sports director of the club. “It’s a very social environment. Lots of our teams go out after the games to bars and drink and hang out.” You can watch the game tonight at 7:00 at Palmer Park. Teams and individuals register to play at www.tmssc.playcoed.com.
