Coconut Grove, Miami’s cozy hamlet, is all about American pride. This Friday, there will be an old-fashioned picnic at the Barnacle (3485 Main Hwy.) and the annual hot-dog-eating contest at CocoWalk (3015 Grand Ave.), plus balloon animals, face painting and art, and, of course, killer fireworks at Peacock Park (2820 McFarlane Rd.). Take along a lawn chair and settle in for the aerial spectacle. Stars and Stripes forever! The party starts at 5 p.m. in the park, and fireworks blast off at 9. Admission is free.
