Some people are really good with their hands. Spencer Morin is one of them. You might know him from the Drinking and Drawing events, Miami World Cinema Center, or the Borscht Film Festival. Let’s just say his hands are all over the place. In a good way. And now he’s using his magical metacarpals to create another live animation at the second Animiami Kick-Off Party at the News Lounge.

The point of all of this partying is to get people excited for the Miami animation conference in October, which is geared more toward the digital approach. The animations featured at this Thursday’s party, however, will be screenings of reels from local animators and new talent. According to Morin, he and his crew will craft a live animation of a “constantly morphing scene, depicting a wooden stop-motion figure running through different scenes that are constantly being painted and repainted.” Expect tunes from DJ Manuvers and soul band Ketchy Shuby.
