Three exciting exhibitions open Friday at Art and Culture Center of Hollywood. “Forever” will showcase Cristina Lei Rodriguez, a Miami artist whose fantastical plastic sculptures and landscapes resemble sequined tumbleweeds or technicolor fauna from an alien planet. Their neon goodness highlights the real and fake in our consumerist world. Meanwhile, “Yes, No, and Everything in Between” will feature works by Louis Erhard, who uses Dada-esque collage to represent the ego and subliminal sexual messages. One of her pieces is a melding of sailors’ mementos from World Wars I and II. Lastly, “A Little Love” is an installation piece by Birds Are Nice featuring an animated video short about a lonely pedestrian guided to love by a helpful bird. All three exhibits open Friday, with an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m., and run through April 10.
Fri., March 4, 6 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, noon; Tuesdays-Fridays. Starts: March 4. Continues through April 8, 2011
