About the Series: America the Beautiful is a three-part documentary series by acclaimed director Darryl Roberts that keenly explores our country’s obsession with beauty, thinness, and the increasing sexualization of our youth.

About Darryl Roberts: Darryl Roberts is an established writer, producer, director, and President of Harley Boy Entertainment. He is best known for his 2008 award-winning documentary America the Beautiful, which keenly focuses on America’s obsession with beauty. The documentary got coverage from such places as The Today Show and CNN News.

The first in the America the Beautiful documentary series has also been internationally successful winning accolades that include Best Documentary (Beloit International Film Festival), Audience Award (Giffoni Hollywood Film Festival), Best Director – Documentary (Chicago International Film Festival), and the UN Rights of the Child Award (Chicago International Children’s Film Festival).

Inspired by all he has learned from the documentary series, Darryl founded an anti-bullying campaign called Are You An Ally? (www.areyouanally.org). The campaign began in 20 cities in 2013 and has expanded to be shown in 10,000 high schools in October 2014 for National Anti-Bullying Month.
