Maybe Miss Manners and Emily Post ate brunch at 11 a.m. each Sunday, but a life of late-night debauchery completely eliminates the idea of breakfast and causes the hermaphrodite of meals to appear on the menu. We love brunch because it’s confused as to whether it wants to ply us with plates of sweet morning breads or stacks of savory, freshly sliced meats, but it’s quite sure we need a cocktail. After all, without the Bellinis, mimosas, and bloody marys, brunch would simply be our dining room after a midday smoke session. Party guru Tommy Pooch commands each night of the week with one of his hawt parties, so now he’s taking over our favorite time-ambiguous feast with Saturday Brunch, a St. Tropez-inspired fete at Maison D’Azur each weekend at noon.
There’ll be Rosé champagne and truffles galore on the French restaurant’s amazing garden terrace, while DJ Zonzon spins tunes that are hot any time of day but très bien at brunch. Reservations are required; call 305-403-1062 to make yours.
