Saturday marks the tenth year of the Miami Dance Festival, and organizers are celebrating with a diverse and eclectic mix of performances and events. Presented by Miami’s Momentum Dance Company, the monthlong dance event will include flamenco, Afro-Peruvian moves, aerial ballet out of Los Angeles, water ballet, a children’s day, and the movie Tap, among other treats. The venues are also diverse, from the Miami Beach Botanical Garden and the Miami Beach Cinematheque to the newly reopened Performing Arts Network in North Miami. The whole thing kicks off Friday at 8:30 p.m. with L.A.’s Luminario Ballet, which combines contemporary and classic modern dance, followed the next day by two Momentum Dance performances at 2 and 8 p.m. featuring a solo piece, “To the West.”
