How hyped were Miami music listeners about Ultra Music Festival? One answer comes from the fact that the three-day electronic music festival sold out once again. But other pieces of illuminating data come from Spotify, which can specify what electronic music Miami has been streaming over the last month.
The most popular artist is an Ultra Music Festival veteran, Calvin Harris. Harris headlined Ultra back in 2024 and 2013, but was nowhere to be found on this year’s bill. Perhaps the 305 was still enchanted by his free show on Miami Beach in January, because Harris had more than double the number of plays as the next electronic music artist, Daft Punk. After that came Alan Walker, Alok, and James Blake.
The most-streamed electronic track in Miami over the last month is “No Broke Boys” by Disco Lines & Tinashe. The silver medal was earned by “Latch” by Disclosure & Sam Smith. Bronze medal belongs to a familiar face in the Scottish Miami streaming champion of Calvin Harris with his fifteen year old single, “Feel So Close“. “Feel So Close” is just one of the five Harris songs that are in the top 25 list of Miami’s 25 most-streamed electronic songs. Also represented on the list from the Harris catalog are 2014’s “Outside,” 2011’s “We Found Love,” and 2014’s “Summer”.
The Impact of Bizarrap’s Ultra Debut
Bizarrap’s Ultra debut had South Florida listening to the Argentine record producer, songwriter and DJ. Of all US cities, Miami streamed Bizarrap the most over the past month. His series of BZRP Music Sessions has become a phenomenon over the years, with his sessions with Quevedo and Shakira both accumulating over a billion streams. In the month of March in Miami, however, leading up to his Friday night gig at Ultra, his most-streamed tracks in Miami are ranked below.
