South Florida folks continue to make a splash on major reality shows, including The Bachelor and its spinoff series. Today, ABC announced that one Miami man is among the 22 contestants who hope to find love with influencer and reality vet Taylor Frankie Paul on the new season of The Bachelorette.
Paul, the breakout star of Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, will star on Season 22 of The Bachelorette, which premieres on Sunday, March 22. Four years ago, the Utah mom influencer and creator of #MomTok went viral after she revealed on TikTok that she and her husband were involved in “soft-swinging” with other Salt Lake City Mormon couples. The revelation set off a scandal that led to the creation of the Hulu reality TV series. Viewers largely tuned in because of Paul’s openness and unapologetic personality.
“As a single mother of three, Paul shares the highs and lows of her life with unfiltered candor,” ABC wrote in a statement announcing the new Bachelorette season. “With humor, resilience, and a fearless openness, she inspires others to embrace life’s chaos and own their story.”
One 305 man willing to swap his bathing suits and flip-flops for snow boots, ski jackets, and Paul? Kevin Montero, a 32-year-old physical therapist from Miami looking to fall in love and raise a big family, according to the cast press release. That might be welcome news for the show’s lead, who has stated she wants the winner to move to Utah with her once she hands out her final rose. Montero’s bio explains that he is ready to settle down after navigating a “fake” dating scene. (Yes, he’s talking about you, Miami.)
In true Miami fashion, Montero says his favorite memories are eating Cuban food and speaking Spanish with his family. As for his “fun facts,” Montero dreams of swimming with hammerhead sharks, is happiest when he’s well fed, and loves to cry while listening to “Crash” by Dave Matthews Band.
A quick scroll of Montero’s LinkedIn profile reveals that he is a graduate of Florida International University (FIU) and later received his doctorate degree in physical therapy from FIU’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences in 2020. He is now the owner of Miami Fitness Project.
“Fingers crossed Kevin and Taylor find amor!” the press release adds.
