One of Fort Lauderdale’s favorite restaurant groups has come together to create a new waterfront seafood restaurant with a great raw bar. Be Nice Restaurant Group, the team that already runs neighborhood hits like Coconuts, one of New Times‘ Best Fort Lauderdale Beach Restaurants, and Foxy Brown, officially opened G&B Dockside this January.
The new restaurant is located inside the Residence Inn by Marriott at 3333 NE 32nd Ave., taking over a space overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway.
This latest project from restaurateur Elliot Wolf acts as a sister restaurant to the original G&B Oyster Bar over at 429 Seabreeze Blvd. While the brand’s other Fort Lauderdale locations are known for their lively, crowded atmosphere, this dockside restaurant is meant to feel more relaxed and low-key. Think of it like a neighborhood hangout that just happens to be tucked inside a hotel lobby.

The Menu Features a Raw Bar and Seafood Dishes
Executive chef Brian Cantrell is heating up the kitchen, bringing a menu focused on small plates and high-end seafood. The raw bar features a cold-water oyster program along with items like shrimp aguachile made with cucumber and avocado, and tuna crudo topped with sambal crema. Diners can even find Osetra caviar served with all the fixings for those looking for something a bit more upscale.
Also, if you have a soft spot for the group’s popular dishes at other locations, you are in luck. Diners will find “Scoobies” on the menu at G&B Dockside, which are snow crab claws served with a delicious garlic-chili butter. They have such a cult following at Coconuts that they had to bring them over to the new spot.
Plus, the kitchen is also serving the Coconuts’ shrimp with papaya chutney alongside newer additions like cornmeal-dusted crispy oysters and shrimp saganaki with feta and olives. For those looking for something more hearty, the menu includes a Maine lobster club on challah, a ribeye steak sandwich with four-cheese fondue, and red snapper with orange-carrot curry.

Waterfront Hospitality in a Relaxed Setting
The dining room and outdoor terrace overlook the water, with plenty of people watching as the boats pass by.
As the weather remains breezy and pleasant, G&B Dockside may become a go-to for locals seeking unpretentious service, fresh seafood, and a lovely waterfront view.
