When imagining where a national bagel brand might debut in Miami, Pinecrest isn’t usually the first place that comes to mind. The suburb has long been defined by spacious homes, elite schools, and family-friendly fixtures, such as Wayside Market, Mainzer’s Deli, and the Daily Bread Miami. However, recently, Pinecrest has begun attracting more buzzworthy spots, including Sergio’s, and even Mister O1 Pizza, a sign that this suburb is evolving alongside the families who’ve increasingly settled here over the past two decades.
Now, this Pinecrest renaissance is more apparent than ever: H&H Bagels, which announced its Miami expansion earlier this year, has just quietly put up signage in Pinecrest at Suniland Shopping Center along U.S. 1, confirming Pinecrest as its second location in the city alongside its upcoming spot in Wynwood.

Why Pinecrest?
H&H Bagels is significant because there is currently not a single bagel-centric shop in all of Pinecrest (we don’t count Einstein’s). However, there are plenty of great local, family-owned delis, such as Roasters n’ Toasters, as well as markets like Joanna’s Marketplace, and a wonderful bagel shop in Palmetto Bay called House of Bagels & Bialys. Finally, New Yorker transplants, Boca frequenters, and Jewish residents of Pinecrest can rejoice.
Plus, this highlights how national brands are now recognizing the value of Miami beyond traditional neighborhoods, such as Brickell, Wynwood, Coconut Grove, or South Beach.
Suburbs offer year-round stability, anchored by growing residential populations and an increase in remote or hybrid work arrangements. South Miami’s dining habits reflect family-centered routines — the desire for reliable, high-quality spots near homes, schools, and weekday errands. For a legacy brand like H&H, Pinecrest presents exactly the kind of steady, community-oriented market where a daily-stop bagel shop thrives. And residents of Pinecrest, South Miami, and Palmetto Bay on TikTok are already ecstatic about the news.

Folks Lined Up at 6 A.M. for the Boca Opening. Pinecrest, Get Ready.
When H&H Bagels opened in Boca in October 2024, bagel lovers lined up out the door beginning at 5 a.m. “We had a line out the door until 6:30 a.m.,” the manager told New Times. “People keep coming, and the guys have been cycling to and from the oven in the back of the house every ten minutes for the last five hours. I mean, we’re doing so much volume today. The oven is running nonstop!”
H&H Bagels is far from a typical bagel shop. Founded in 1972, its Upper West Side storefront quickly became both a neighborhood staple and a pop-culture symbol, famously referenced in Seinfeld and Sex and the City.
The brand’s revival began in 2014, when new ownership acquired H&H’s name and assets with the goal of preserving its classic technique while modernizing operations. Under this leadership, H&H expanded wholesale distribution, launched nationwide shipping, adopted a franchise model, and eventually reopened an Upper West Side location in 2022. Today, the company has storefronts across the United States, including one that just opened in West Palm Beach.

What to Expect at H&H Bagels Pinecrest
Although the interior of the new location has not been revealed, guests can expect the staples that define H&H. That includes hand-rolled bagels made using the brand’s original 1970s method, classic schmears and smoked fish, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, coffee, grab-and-go items, and retail bagel packs. If recent openings are any indication, the Pinecrest shop will likely feature a clean and modern fast-casual design that suits early mornings, school drop-off routines, and weekend foot traffic.
For Pinecrest, the arrival of a storied New York bagel institution marks a quiet but meaningful moment in the neighborhood’s ongoing culinary evolution.
