Between the lack of public transportation and the sheer number of drivers on the road, traffic never seems to let up in Miami-Dade County. Worst of all, this week, snowbirds, Art Basel, and roadway construction pile up to make matters even worse.

If you are brave enough to leave your house this weekend to take part in the various Art Week festivities, New Times has assembled a list of Miami-Dade construction projects that could make daily commutes more painful than usual this week.

County officials say these projects could result in detours or drivers needing to seek alternative routes. Here are the roadway construction and closure activities for the week through December 7:

SW 57th Court and Coral Way

The project involves increasing the left lane storage at SW 57th Avenue. It is expected to be completed by February 2026.

SW 280th Street and SW 140th Avenue from US-1 to SW 137th Avenue
