You kind of know from osmosis what music is popular in your city. You hear the same song playing from a car passing by as you do at your favorite bar or gym or smoothie spot. Of course the tech conglomerates that rule the world have their own way of tracking what songs are most popular in each city. No method might be more effective than the Shazam top 50 for each week. It tracks what songs in each city people are using their Shazam app to figure out what the hell they’re listening to.  For this week, here’s the top ten most Shazam’ed songs in Miami.

10. “La Plena (W Sound 05)” by Beéle, W Sound, Ovy On The Drums

Beéle has been making headlines — and not for very good reasons. The scandal surrounding a sex tape with his ex-girlfriend, Isabella Ladera, even reached the courthouse. Still, it seems that fans are enjoying his music in spite of it. “La Pena,” a laid-back song by the trio of Colombian artists, was the most-streamed Latin song in the world this past spring, and it continues to reverberate through Miami well into autumn.

9. “Shiny” by EasyKid

The Chilean singer-songwriter rapping in Spanglish has inspired a TikTok dance craze with Kenia Os, Rosalía, and  TOMORROW X TOGETHER, all posting videos of dancing to the song, which has people wondering what song they’re dancing to?

8. “Everything Is Romantic” by Charli XCX & Caroline Polachek

Why would a song from 2024 be Shazam’ed so much late in 2025? Taylor Swift just released a new album (which we’ll get to in a minute) with a song called “Actually Romantic,” which careful listeners have interpreted as a dis track to Charli XCX, and apparently has them going back to this trip-hop track from Brat by Charli XCX featuring singing by Caroline Polachek for further clues.

7. “The Fate of Ophelia” by Taylor Swift

Swifties have given their heroine the number one movie at the box office this past weekend with a documentary about the making of her newest album, but they could only push Taylor Swift to lucky number seven this past week in Miami.

6. “Ordinary” by Alex Warren

Perhaps out of excitement that Alex Warren is making his South Florida concert debut Wednesday night as his Cheaper Than Therapy Tour comes to Hard Rock Live, his pop anthem is still being discovered months after it was originally released as a single in February.

5. Lose Control by Teddy Swims

This soulful concoction is the first song in Billboard Magazine history to be on their charts for over 100 weeks, but people in Miami still find themselves intrigued, desperately wanting to know what that is with the expressive voice.

4. “Shake It To The Max (FLY) (Remix)” by MOLIY, Silent Addy, Skillibeng & Shenseea

This sultry song with Island vibes has filled up dancefloors all summer long. And no matter if school is in session or not, the weather says it’s always summer in Miami.

3. “Golden” by HUNTR/X, EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI & KPop Demon Hunters Cast

KPop Demon Hunters is a phenomenon. The cartoon is the most-watched movie on Netflix in history; afterwards, it played in theaters and ruled the box office. Its fans can’t get enough of the movie or this song from the movie.

2. “Starburster” by Fontaines D.C.

This confused me. How the hell is an Irish indie rock band charting higher in Miami than Taylor Swift, K-Pop and reggaeton? It’s all about licensing. They got the song in just about every TV show from Outer Banks to Black Rabbit to House of Guinness to MobLand.

1. “What You Is” by NBA YoungBoy & Mellow Rackz

Now this song feels like Miami. The Louisiana rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again is coming to Kaseya Center on October 13, and Miami is preparing for the show by playing this track over and over again.
