An oldie but goodie, Escopazzo features a four-course wine dinner Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Maybe one of the last places in Miami where a diner can get white-glove service and perfectly prepared nibbles, this Italian enclave charges $72 for the degustation and wine pairing. Chef Giancarla Bodoni’s expertise lies in a modern interpretation of Italian classics. She touts a completely organic menu, sourced from sustainably raised ingredients when necessary. She also keeps a fully eco-friendly business, using recyclables, nontoxic detergents, and a green launderer.
The wine pairing has been provided by Domaine Select Wine Estates, recently awarded Wine Importer of the Year by Food & Wine magazine. The “vinous, terrible twosome” — Kelly Richardson and Juan Ernesto Hernandez — will guide guests through Italian wine and get into specifics about a number of indigenous varietals spanning the length of the boot.
P.S.: If wine is not your thing, the menu is also available sans vino for $49 per person; just let the hostess know in advance.
