All the names being floated around as our next temporary senator have been of the masculine persuasion. Why not some ladies? Time magazine adds to the ever-growing list of Senate maybes with two women. Minority women in fact.
First up is Miami’s own Rep. Anitere Flores. She’s the deputy majority leader and is the only Hispanic female in the state legislature. Problem is, she’s only 32. Meaning she might not be content settling for a job she’d have to give up in a year and some change. Especially when her name is also being floated around as a possible running mate for Bill McCollum.
The other is Rep. Jennifer Carroll, an African-American republican from Jacksonville by way of Trinidad. She was also a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy.
