Michael C. Hall, star of the Miami-set TV series Dexter, announced yesterday he has cancer, but has kept it a hidden from fans since last year. The 38-year-old said he was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma — a blood cell disease –and that he’s now in complete remission.

“I feel fortunate to have been diagnosed with an imminently treatable and curable condition,” he told the UK Telegraph. “And I thank my doctors and nurses for their expertise and care.”

His publicist Craig Bankey added that he’s still undergoing treatment. On Sunday, the actor will attend the Golden Globes. He’s nominated for best actor and the show is up for best dramatic series. The timing smells like a PR move, but, well, that’s Hollywood.
