The weekend is finally here. All hail the weekend! There’s a lot of great stuff going on in the Magic City this weekend, from chocolate festivals to micro-theater to concerts, fitness and film.

Miami Jewish Film Festival at Aventura Arts and Culture Center: The festival continues for two weeks at eight venues across South Florida, from Miami Beach Cinematheque, Regal Cinemas South Beach, and Temple Beth Sholom to the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center. For the festival’s 18th year includes 74 films from 20 countries, plus appearances by 50 acclaimed filmmakers and guests, including Nancy Spielberg, Bill Morrison, and Lacey Schwartz
South Florida One Minute Play Festival at the Deering Estate: The largest and longest-running short-form theater celebration in the nation, offers plays on local politics, from immigration and government to culture and entertainment.
The Festival of Chocolate at The Dezer Auto Museum: Programming includes a cocoa couture fashion show Saturday and a cake-decorating competition Sunday. And of course you’ll get to eat confections — sample artisanal truffles, cakes, cupcakes, brownies, ice creams, and other delights from award-winning pastry chefs and chocolatiers.
Eco Adventures at Crandon Park Visitors and Nature Center: The folks at Miami-Dade Parks’ Eco Adventures offer an early-morning tour through the ecosystems of Crandon Park. Watch the sun rise from the cozy confines of a kayak.
The Purple Palace at Pinecrest Gardens: Orchestra Miami’s family friendly concert features music by Bruce Adolphe, story by Louise Gikow, and conducting by Elaine Rinaldi.
