Here’s a present for all you music lovers and North Miami residents, and especially for you North Miami music lovers.
The Museum of Contemporary Art (770 NE 125th St., North Miami) is not letting Santa or Jesus or New Song stand in the way of its mission to bring great jazz music to the masses on the last Friday of every month. The last Friday of December just happens to be Christmas? No problem, they say. We’ll still bring in Miami native (and Best of New Times winner) LeNard Rutledge to croon the evening away, beginning at 8 p.m. And in the Xmas spirit, the show, as always, will be totally free and under the stars.
MOCA’s doors will also be open between 7 and 10 p.m. so if you haven’t seen The Reach of Realism yet, get on your mule, lay down some palm fronds, and get over there.
