Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
We all come into this world naked, screaming, and wildly swinging our limbs. Baby, we were born that way, but most of us get over it within an hour of birth. Twenty-one-year-old Jonny Fernandez, a student at Brevard Community College, reverted back to babydom on Tuesday and was arrested after stripping nude and hitting the school’s assistant provost.
Police found Fernandez standing in a breezeway in nothing but brown shorts. Cops had been called because several students had complained he was standing in the middle of campus without a stitch of clothing, according to WKMG.
“I was nude because that’s the way I was born,” he later told police. He added he wasn’t on any sort of medication.
Police called his mom, but after she arrived, Fernandez began running around wildly.
He then ran into associate provost administrator James Darby and hit him. Darby was left with a busted lip.
Fernandez was eventually apprehended and charged with battery on a school official, disruption of an educational institute, breach of peace, indecent exposure of sexual organs, and resisting arrest without violence.
