Those who have been following Florida politics aren’t in for any major surprise, but it is still exciting to see it play out nonetheless.
Naked Politics reports that a source tells them CFO Alex Sink, a Democrat, is expected to announce her entrance into the now open Governor’s race before a fundraiser scheduled in Broward on Thursday night. So that will be about 60 hours, give or take, after Crist announced he will not seek re-election as Governor. The “Draft Alex” site hasn’t been updated since early February, but one would think they’d be ecstatic that their dream is about to come true.
NP also reports the Republican Attorney General is expected to announce his candidacy sometime next week. He already has a growing list of supporters, and some are talking him up as a non-idealogue, pragmatist in the style of Crist.
