Looks like Luis Posada Carriles’ art career is starting to take off. The 79-year-old Cuban may be better known for the terrorism he’s been accused of in rest of the world. But it’s the paintings (he specializes in landscapes) from his golden years that have grabbed the attention of the City of Hialeah. He is Thursday’s featured artist at Walker Community Center, 800 West 29th Street from 7 to 10 o’clock. The exposition is part of the city’s first Art Week Hialeah 2007, which touts more than 50 artists. But it’d probably be hard to find one with a more shadowy past than Carriles, who spent years in hiding before settling in South Florida. — Janine Zeitlin
