We knew that the day would come that Lil Wayne would have to finally go to Riker’s Island prison in New York, and no amount of dentistry or fire or social networking could ultimately change that fact. According to TMZ.com, Monday was indeed that day. Weezy was jovial in a UStream video posted over the weekend, but in a serious mood for his final tweet early Monday morning. Officially he must serve a one-year sentence after pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in October, but the AP reports that the rapper might be free in as soon as November if he behaves himself.

Hopefully but not definitively unrelated: Recently incarcerated rapper T.I. just happened to release a song Monday called “I’m Back.”
