$10,000

Yes, that’s “Stewie” as in the misanthropic infant star of The Family Guy. And while this event’s connection to “art” is rather tenuous, who among our very coveted young demographic doesn’t like The Family Guy? So stay with me here while I explain the concept of this Wednesday night party at the Vagabond. It celebrates the upcoming Blu-Ray/DVD release of Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Darkside. It’s both the second Family Guy feature, and also a spoof of The Empire Strikes Back. Peter appears therein as Han Solo, and Chewbacca is Brian, of course. Hey, why not?
To mark the occasion, 20th Century Fox has created a 45-foot Darth Stewie parade balloon — it’s unclear whether it’s meant for an actual future parade, but it’ll be inflated and in full force at the Vag. The party promises “Stormtroopers and light sabers,” drink specials and giveaways, as well as DJ sets by Daniel Hunt of Ladytron, raunch-rapper Hollywood Holt, and NYC electro-rockers FIGO
