The South Beach Wine & Food Festival’s Whole Foods Grand Tasting Village satisfied hungry and parched guests via everything from deep-fried meat pies and stuffed plantain cups to poached shrimp and chilled avocado soup. There was even a bread station, with freshly homemade loaves perfect for soaking up the alcohol consumed throughout the day. Wines, liqueurs, vodkas, rums, mezcals, and spirits in every imaginable flavor helped make the mood festive inside the tent as glassy-eyed visitors did what they could to get their money’s worth and throw back every last drop before last call.

Outside the Grand Tasting event, the sun shone brightly off the white, sandy beaches. Inside the sponsor tents was a flurry of activity, including cooking demos, book signings, appearances, and product demos.

As the witching hour of the fest approached, guests stumbled out. One satisfied visitor summed it up: “Wow, that was a lot! I’m going on a diet so that I can make room for more next year.”
