Talk about sins of the father. David James Mahn, a 49-year-old from Montverde, Florida, is charged with 200 counts of child-porn possession after his 16-year-old son confided in his youth group leader.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, the son new about his father’s collection and turned to his church’s youth leader. The youth leader then tipped off the church’s pastor. The pastor then confronted Mahn about the collection.
Mahn admitted he had a problem and turned himself in to Lake County deputies Friday while accompanied by the pastor, youth leader, and two external hard drives full of kiddie porn. Some of the images involved children as young as 1 year old.
Mahn admitted he had a problem with child porn since his teens and had originally subscribed to nudist magazines and then eventually turned to the Internet. According to the Daily Commercial, Mahn said he didn’t obtain sexual gratification from the images but enjoyed his collection because it was considered taboo.
He’s now sitting in jail on 200 counts of child-porn possession. Bail was set at $400,000.
