Pompano Beach Amphitheatre has claimed what would have been Langerado weekend as a sort of early St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Crossfade just announced that the Pogues will play the venue on Mar. 7 (amazing!), but on Mar 6. the venue will also see some Irish-influenced punk.
That day, Flogging Molly, the seven-piece act from (not exactly Irish hotbed) Los Angeles, headlines. Opening acts are fellow Langerado refugees: Against Me!, Gainesville’s finest bearded act, The Aggrolites, one of the few bands on the circuit playing sweet traditional ska, and Dub Trio, a King Tubby-obsessed Brooklyn threesome.
Friday, Mar. 6. Pompano Beach Amphitheatre, 1806 NE 6th St., Pompano Beach. Show starts at 6:30 p.m., tickets cost $28. www.livenation.com
