The Jamaican singer who was convicted on rape, illegal possession of a firearm and robbery was released at 5:30 Saturday morning.

Jah Cure was sentenced to 13 years in prison in 1998.

Although he was imprisoned, Jah Cure’s popularity skyrocketed over the past three years, following the release of a number of hit singles including “Longing For”, “True Reflections” and “Love is.” —Jonathan Cunningham
