A 34-year-old Florida Keys man is recovering at Ryder Trauma Center after being attacked by a teenager with a golf club during a spat about Facebook.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on Fat Deer Key. Deputies responded to a call that a man had been injured by another man.
They arrived to find the victim badly injured but able to walk and talk. He told deputies that 18-year-old Jesse Rizzo, who lives in the same house, had attacked him. Police say the argument was over “Facebook activities.”
Rizzo had beaten the man multiple times with both his fists and the golf club.
The club was found in Rizzo’s room. He was booked on charges of aggravated battery.
The victim was airlifted to a Miami hospital.
