We’ve already blogged a couple times about Poplife’s big Art Basel party on Saturday, December 5 featuring the Golden Filter. Electric Pickle’s got a lot of other stuff going on during Basel week, though, including a huge Aquabooty blow-out on Friday, December 4. Here’s the line-up.
Wednesday, December 2
“A meet and greet chill neighborhood mixer,” a.k.a., business at usual at the Pickle — a laid-back atmosphere and DJs downstairs playing funk, soul, rare groove, and so on. The bar’s open tonight from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Thursday, December 3
Shie Moreno’s “Darkness Before Light,” a “free-floating” art installation, plus lots of live music: Kairo, Universal Citizens, and Modernage. (Our pick is Modernage.) Upstairs, the State Of plays, and live they are always winners.
Friday, December 4
The big annual “Fuck Art, Let’s Dance” party. If you love house, you already know about this one, but just in case — it’s a huge Aquabooty blow-out, which means deep sounds and a friendly, ready-to-dance crowd. Aquabooty head honcho Tomas and UK transplant DJ Harvey hold down one room, while “spiritual house leader” Osunlade headlines the other.
Saturday, December 5
