Dinner and a movie is a pairing as time-worn as bread and butter. But instead of the usual Netflix and Chinese take-out you and the SO have settled into, why not step out for some cultural enrichment and real grub instead?
O Cinema’s March installment of its OMG Dinner & a Movie will feature a multicourse meal by Harry’s Pizzeria and a screening of Bert Stern: Original Mad Man, a documentary about one of America’s most notable photographers.

The menu, courtesy of the culinary stars at Harry’s Pizzeria, is as follows:
- Cannelinni bean antipasto
- Foccaccia chips
- Starfruit ‘n’ cucumber salad
- Shepherd’s pie alla Bolognese
- Chef Hedy’s dessert: coconut ‘n’ medjool date sticky pudding with rum toffee sauce
- Movie snack: spiced ‘n’ candied nuts
The meal (aside from one item that can be subbed out) is also Passover-friendly. Plus beer and wine will be available for sale — $4 for domestic beers, $5 for imports.
“The evening is pretty informal but a lot of fun. We serve dinner first; you eat on old-school lunch cafeteria trays. You eat in the movie theater seats, and while you’re doing that, you’re enjoying a preshow of curated videos and trailers,” says O Cinema’s Kareem Tabsch.
And the flick? It’s a look at one of America’s most iconic advertising photogs. Bert Stern: Original Mad Man looks at how the dude behind the lens helped shape pop culture with his stunning and often intimate pics of Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Twiggy, and countless other celebrities.
Attendees to the dinner/movie will get a sneak peek of the film, which O Cinema will screen beginning the following week.
“The documentary is really, really fun if you’re into photography or old-school Hollywood glamour,” Tabsch adds.
