Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
In the wake of the closure of their Brickell location, the folks of Choices Cafe are expanding the operations of their newest locale — Choices Kitchen.
The outpost, near Miami International Airport, previously offered just a $12 daily plate (and featured a vegan marketplace). But as of this week, customers can find the full menu and all their familiar favorites. Mentil Lentil, anyone?

The Brickell location was forced to close this month due to (you guessed it): Developers. Finnegan’s River was the latest to announce a similar scenario.
In addition to offering the full menu, Choices Kitchen will also expand their hours to match the Brickell location. They’ll be open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. And the location definitely has it over Brickell size-wise.
“We will definitely still be offering the daily plate, and this will be in addition to offering our full Choices Cafe menu (breakfast, pancakes, smoothies, juices, wraps, salads, etc.) and we also have expanded our organic marketplace with many more new and unique offerings,” says Lori Zito, Choices’ Sr. Director of Operations and Project Management.
Their on-site market offers everything from vegan marshmallows to cookbooks. And meatless eaters will only have to hoof it another 4.4 miles for the deliciousness they’re used to.
