$7,500

Starting this evening at 7:00 p.m., with nightly performances at the same time running through Sunday, Tap Tap Haitian Restaurant will be showing The Harder They Come as the feature in the Film at Tap Tap series. Screenings are free to the public, and start promptly — those who come late will not be admitted.

A much better idea is to arrive early and dine on Tap Tap’s terrific island fare. Or sit at the bar and sip Red Stripes or the restaurant’s unbeatable rum punch — and then have dinner after the movie. Either way, you can revel in this colorful Haitian environment and enjoy this all-Jamaican-made film classic from 1973 — it’s got Jimmy Cliff in the leading role and four of his greatest songs in the soundtrack. The movie was directed by Perry Henzell, who was producer and co-writer of the hit musical that just finished its run at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.

Tap Tap is located at 819 5th Street, Miami Beach; 305-672-2898.
