Reader support matters more than ever

There are a lot of things we expect to encounter when going to Tropical Park in west Miami-Dade for Santa’s Enchanted Forest: chongas, carnies, awesome carnival food. But we definitely don’t expect to see a superstar DJ.
Nevertheless, we spotted Tiësto there just the other day. Of course, not in person … More like a mildy creepy version of the Dutch DJ airbrushed on the enormous display behind the Techno Power ride.
But the cherry on top is the ride itself. Our intrepid photographer, Ciara Osorio, who spotted the cartoonish Tiësto, reported that while riders are being whirled around, the soundtrack is anything but techno. “It’s all country music.”
