Miami’s club scene isn’t always the ideal place to ring in the New Year. Some folks like to rock a beanie, not a sparkly tiara, on the party holiday. For Phish fans, this NYE will be the best day since the alt-rock jam band went off hiatus in 2009. This Wednesday through January 3, Phish will perform fan favorites plus songs from its latest album, Fuego, which debuted in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 and was named in Rolling Stone’s readers’ poll “The 10 Best Albums of 2014 So Far.” Produced by Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel), it was praised by the New York Times’ Jon Pareles as “frisky.”
Fans and rookie jammers alike can sway and sing in buzzed bliss at the AmericanAirlines Arena (601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami) at 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Tickets start at $90.30 for a single-day pass and $279.30 for a four-day pass. Call 786-777-1000 or visit aarena.com.
