In anticipation for America’s birthday, a giggly Waka Flocka Flame recently appeared on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! to discuss the dangers of fireworks.
“Every Fourth of July, we have Roman Candle fights,” Flocka recalls from a gold throne. “One year, a friend of mine was sparking off candles and hit somebody in the face and lit their t-shirt on fire.”
Holding back the laughter, he admits that it “was the funniest year [he] ever had with Roman Candles” before offering a stern warning to children.
“Remember, kids, be safe and light that shit up.”

“I was going hard [on Kimmel],” Flocka tells Crossfade in a recent phone interview cut short by shoddy cell service and the rapper’s low battery. “Always go hard.”
The 26-year-old rapper is one of several appearing at this weekend’s Radio One Fest at Bayfront Park’s Klipsch Amphitheater. And though he won’t have much time to explore the city while he’s down here, Waka admits he’s excited about his trip to Miami.
“When I go to Miami I want to see more than just South Beach,” he says. “I want to get to know the people and the culture of Miami.”
As for performing in the 305, Waka says the Magic City’s the type of place you “need to give your all.”
