By the time Friday afternoon rolls around, you’re all like, “I need a drink,” but with the sun shutting down at 5:30 p.m., so are you. Save your thirst and alcohol consumption for the weekend days, when the Miami Fine Wine and Spirits Festival invades Peacock Park (2820 McFarlane Rd., Coconut Grove) this Saturday and Sunday.
Seven shows within a show, including five tents for spirits — tequila, beer, wine, rum, and others — and 250 high-end brands handing out unlimited samplings, will keep your thirst quenched all day, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
And while wine and spirits are the heart and soul of the fest, you can’t have booze without food. To provide some lining for the stomach, a culinary pavilion and chocolate pavilion will proffer everything from Mexican and Greek cuisine to cake pops and truffles. Like your chocolate spiked? Look out for the chocolate vodka and wine.
Live musical entertainment sponsored by Prohibition will feature upscale beats — stuff that’ll get you moving after a few samples. But it’s not all fun and games. Seminar and cooking demos will make the Fine Wine and Spirits Festival educational too.
General admission costs $25. VIP tickets cost $59 for one day or $69 for two and include valet parking; unlimited beer, wine, and spirits; access to the VIP tent, where Jaguar, Uvaggio, Prohibition, Embassy, and Escopazzo will offer free food and swag bags; and other perks.
