If downward dog is one of your favored positions, head to Wynwood Walls this Tuesday, when hundreds of yoga enthusiasts will relish the energy of the vibrant neighborhood for a good cause.
You don’t need to be an expert to participate in Paradise Yoga, but you do need to have a giving heart. The forces behind this event, Palm-Beach based nonprofit organization the Paradise Fund and Miami-based Peace for a Nation, hope the two-hour power yoga class will raise enough funds to support programs for the Paradise Fund’s community center in Jacmel, Haiti.
After a long day at work, there’s no better way to let go all of the stress than with a couple of inversions. Don’t think you have it in you? Local yoga gurus Gabi Quintana and Alexandra Knafo from Brickell Hot Yoga can bring out the warrior in anyone. However, inner peace might be hard to reach in this particular sweat session — Knafo will also be on the decks spinning EDM beats.
Miami weather puts the “hot” in hot yoga, so be prepared to sweat your asana off. To cool off, complimentary fresh juices and power snacks will give you a bang for your 30-buck ticket. Last year’s event brought together more than 200 aspiring yogis, so be sure to get to Wynwood Walls (2550 NW Second Ave., Miami) before 8 p.m. Visit paradisefund.eventbee.com.
