The South Beach Wine & Food Festival is right around the corner, but aren’t you hungry now? Miami has so many great tastes to offer without a slew of out-of-towners clogging our streets. We can throw our own delicious celebration right now, and that’s exactly what the Palette Miami Festival will do. This Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m., revel in the sights, sounds, and flavors as diverse as Miami-Dade County. Enjoy $3 plates from 30 local restaurants, complemented perfectly by free sake and beer. Face painting, balloon sculpting, and even a petting zoo make it fun for the whole family. And once you’ve eaten your fill, you can dance the calories off at the local music showcase. General admission is $40 for adults, $10 for children 11 to 17, and free for kids 10 and younger. Admission includes a few raffle tickets, but with all proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Clubs, why not buy more? All of downtown Miami will be transformed for the occasion, and organizers suggest street parking along NE Fourth Court and NE 58th Street. Call 866-465-3995 or visit palettemiami.com.
Sat., Feb. 8, 3-9 p.m., 2014
