A gravitating presence, charismatic flair and enchanting voice.
Those are just a few of the traits Rey Ruiz devotees will be treated to when the Cuban salsero takes the stage at Escape (inside the Howard Johnson, Hialeah) on Saturday night.

Ruiz hits Miami on Saturday
Fresh off making the rounds in Mexico the baby-faced Ruiz is expected to conjure up some of his most-noted hits including, “Mi Tentacion” (My Temptation), “Estamos Solos” (We’re Alone) and “Vuelve de nuevo conmigo” (Come back to me again) along with tracks off his most recent CD Corazon Arrepentido (Regretful Heart).
Ruiz, who garnered international success nearly two decades ago with his first CD Rey Ruiz after arriving from Cuba, is credited with being one of the exponents of adding a romanticizing swoon to the tropical rhythms of salsa.
Ruiz has come back to the pack after producing three consecutive platinum albums in the mid 90’s but nonetheless has managed to stay somewhat relevant in a genre that could prove unstable – aside from a few others – in the long run. — Fernando Ruano
Rey Ruiz will perform at Escape inside the Howard Johnson (7707 N.W. 103rd St., Hialeah) Saturday, July 14. For additional information call (305) 779-2834.
