When Dave Chappelle went off his rocker, Comedy Central found itself with a large void in its risqué programming block. More reruns of South Park? Dane Cook comedy specials on a nightly basis? Give — gasp — Paul Mooney his own show? Regardless of how awesome a Blackstrodamus or Ask a Black Dude TV show would have been, the cable channel spun the ethnic comedian wheel and the little sparkly triangle landed on Carlos Mencia. Mencia has done a wonderful job cornering the market on making fun of Mexicans and retards. See for yourself this Thursday at 7:30 p.m., when he takes over the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

For 34, 44, or 54 bucks, you can see Mencia do a Mexican hat dance onstage and try out his 21st-century Don Rickles shtick. Or you can take that money and buy all the seasons of Chappelle’s Show on DVD. Or you can donate it to the Special Olympics. Decisions, decisions, dee-dee-dee.

Thu., Nov. 19, 7:30 p.m., 2009
